Just a quick snapshot of today's front page.
"A woman Bundled up for the cold weather walks past statues by chinese artist Yue Minjun after a brief snow storm in downtown Vancouver on Monday"
"Brace for more white stuff. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver with parts of the Fraser Valle forecast to receive up to 20cm's of snow"
On Monday morning (yesterday), people in vancouver woke up to a beautiful snowfall! After the joy of fresh snow wears off however, (or if you are some of my friends and you do not experience any joy from a fresh snow fall), you realize you really have to get your rear in gear if you are ever going to get anywhere on time. Despite the fact we received less then 3cm's of snow, and despite the fact there was no snow on the roads busses were cancelled, classes started consistently late, and no bus ran on schedule for the rest of the day. Talking to the bus driver on my route today about this he mentioned that on average the busses were 30-45 minutes behind schedule yesterday and if we really do get 20 cm's of snow tomorrow we can expect the city to be effectively shut down.
